Child Protection: In keeping with archdiocesan policy, parish volunteers must be VIRTUS-certified to be involved in ANY youth activity. What does this mean? All adults must have a background check (within the last five years) and be current on ALL training (via monthly bulletins). This is non-negotiable for volunteers to remain “current” and approved to work with children. The next VIRTUS sessions will be Wednesday, March 9, May 4, and August 10 from 6:30-9:30pm in the school cafeteria.

For more information, please email, or contact the Parish Office at 561-5954, ext. 2101 and ask for Mary.

Corporal Works of Mercy: Clothe the Naked - Year of Mercy 2016

The Saint Anne & Child Mary Guild: a spiritual guild for young ladies in our parish. Once a month we come together to pray, serve, and learn.

“Respect Life” was the focus for our Corporal Works of Mercy. Ann and Marie Cordier were our speakers for the month and taught the girls about the developmental stages of the life of the unborn baby. They said prayers for them and each girl received a little model of a twelve week old unborn baby to take home. Some of the girls even made beds at home for their little unborn babies and placed them on their altars as a reminder to continue to pray for them.

At our meeting we also made ten blankets that we donated to the Pregnancy Center East for the babies in need of them. The girls were very excited to be able to help in a small way to “Clothe the naked” by our donation.

This is a wonderful ministry and a compelling way to “Clothe the naked.”

2016 Spring Retreat-Communio - Youth Ministry

It is fascinating that we live in an age marked by social media, yet people feel more disconnected from others than perhaps ever before. It is almost incredible to think that launching a retreat called communio (communion, fellowship, literally "with-union") is literally countercultural. In an age marked by rampant consumerism, technological isolation, individualism, and loneliness, the countercultural option is authentic relationships, personal relationships, and ones that happen in lived reality - in the flesh.
