"Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated." (CCC 1272)
St. Gertrude Church provides Baptisms for families that are registered parishioners. We are eager to assist you in planning your child’s Baptism.
Baptisms will take place on most Sundays at 1:15 p.m., following our 12 p.m. Mass. Parents may need to attend a Baptism class with one of the Dominican friars prior to the child's Baptism. |
Please call the parish office at (513) 561-5954, ext. 2101, to find out more about our Baptism process, sign up for a formation opportunity with one of the friars, and schedule your child’s Baptism.
Note: For children ages 7 and older or for adults seeking Baptism, an age-appropriate formation process will be required. Contact the office for further details. |
The church suggests a $25 offering, if possible, to cover the costs of the materials: white garment, holy water bottle, baptismal candle, printed baptismal certificate, etc. This offering can be given to either the priest or the Baptism team that will be present at your child's Baptism. |
