Ladies of Charity Meeting

Calling all Ladies of Charity

There will be an organizational meeting on Saturday, January 14 at 10:00am in the School Library to make plans for our 2017 activities. There is much to discuss as we plan 2017 and beyond for the Ladies of Charity organization.

Calling All Prayer Warriors!

Do you ardently/fervently pray? Do you spend time with Jesus each day … in quiet and busy moments?

The parish’s “Circle of Prayer” (email) Ministry has been a staple of our parish for many years. As we transition in ministry, we are seeking someone who would like to lead this predominantly “digital” ministry!

If you enjoy email, and frequently communicate in that medium, then we would love to see if this is a ministry for you! Nearly 130 people are in the email group and they receive the requests daily and pray for the needs of the parish and our parishioners. If you would be willing to learn more about this wonderful and powerful witness to the gift of prayer, please contact April Poch at prayercirclesg@gmail.com.

Veterans Day Collection Thank You

Thank You St. Gertrude Parish for the tremendous support of our Veterans!

The Knights of Columbus collected a large box of personal items and over $500 that will be donated directly to our area VA facilities.

Please join us on December 20th at 7:00pm, in Elder Hall (in the Parish Center basement) as we present your donations to Hank Gieseler, Voluntary Service Specialist, VA Medical Center. Hank will give a short presentation about his office and how our donations are used. Refreshments will also be served.

Looking To Donate by the End of the Year?

The St. Gertrude Gardeners are working on a plan to renovate the gym entrance of the Parish Center. The work will be scheduled for early spring and there are opportunities to donate trees, a statue, benches, a retaining wall, landscaped beds, etc.

If you would like to be part of this project and add to your tax deductions, please give us a call! Most importantly, this could be your gift in memory of or to honor someone special, living or deceased. Donations can be given by individuals, or groups of families or friends.

Many families throughout our area have a very special Christmas because of our parishioners generosity. Please stop by the Christmas Giving Tree and pick a tag off the tree to help us fulfill the wishes of some very special people. Drop off for the gifts will be December 3-4.

Gifts need to be returned UNWRAPPED. Drop-offs will be December 3-4 in the Parish Center. Please be sure to drop off your donations before 2 pm on Sunday Dec. 4th.

NOTE: If you cannot bring the gifts this weekend, please drop them off at the parish offices before Saturday.
