St. Joseph the Worker Society - New Server Training

The St. Gertrude Altar Server Program, known as The St. Joseph the Worker Society, is a program that mentors and spiritually forms young men (4th Grade - High School) who wish to serve the Church (and possibly encourage them to discern more clearly a possible vocation to the priesthood or religious life). They are trained to serve holy Mass and other important liturgical celebrations. The society will be an opportunity for them to be mentored in Dominican spirituality of manhood, priesthood, and fatherhood. The program is organized by the pastor and parochial vicars of St. Gertrude.

Any questions, please contact Fr. Clement Dickie, O.P.

Mandatory Training Dates
Friday, Sept. 28 - 6pm to 8:30pm
Saturday, Sept. 29 - 8:30am to 11:00am
Monday, Oct. 1 - 6pm to 8:30pm

Therefore, in the liturgy, you are much more than simple “helpers of the parish priest.” Above all, you are servers of Jesus Christ, of the eternal High Priest. Thus, you, altar servers, are called in particular to be young friends of Jesus. Be determined to go deeper and to cultivate this friendship with him. You will discover that in Jesus you have found a true friend for life. -Pope St. John Paul The Great
