It is important for the Church to create the conditions that will permit many young people to say ‘yes’ in generous response to God‘s loving call… It is my hope that the local Churches will become places where vocations are carefully discerned and their authenticity tested; places where young men and women are offered wise and strong spiritual direction. In this way, the Christian community itself becomes a manifestation of the Love of God in which every calling is contained. —Pope Benedict XVI, 49th World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Saint Joseph the Worker Society – Young MenThe St. Joseph the Worker Society recruits young men from the 4th grade through high school. They are trained to serve holy Mass and other important liturgical celebrations. The Society for the young men will be an opportunity for them to be mentored in Dominican spirituality, build community, and provide needed service to the church. It is a program of fraternity, discipline, accountability, and discernment; the spirituality of manhood, priesthood, and fatherhood is the focus of the training for our young men. This program is organized by the pastor and pastoral associates, the Director of Youth Ministry. Go to our website to learn about how you can sign up to learn how to serve and become a member of this great group of young men serving our parish. Training sessions will begin very soon.
