Support St. Gertrude School – Where Learning Never Stops
The impact of the coronavirus pandemic upon school enrollment is significant. Families have prayed, deliberated, and agonized over what is best for them for the upcoming school year. Some families have reached difficult decisions. Over 50 students have withdrawn causing a shortfall of tuition income at a time when additional monies are needed to purchase and install protective equipment, acquire computers and technology for remote learning, and the hiring of a nurse and teacher aides where they are needed. The minimum need of funding is $250,000 (and it is likely that more will be necessary). This funding will go towards:
-Additional aides to support teachers during this time of online learning
-PPE (personal protective equipment)
-Additional instructional staff
-Increased levels of sanitization
A fundraising effort to sustain our school has assembled a dollar-for-dollar matching fund with a value of $100,000. The challenge is to raise $100,000 in other gifts by August 31st in order to secure the matching monies. Every gift that helps reach the initial goal of $100,000 will be doubled during this challenge. We will continue to raise monies after this challenge to meet the real needs to continue to provide a vibrant, Catholic, and Dominican education at our school.
