Bequests

IRA Rollover

To qualify, the distribution must be made directly from your IRA to St. Gertrude Parish. When done correctly, the amount donated will not be included in your taxable income. If the distribution is paid to you first and then donated, it will be taxed as ordinary income. In addition, if you are required to take a minimum distribution (RMD), your charitable contribution can satisfy all or part of the amount of your required minimum distribution from your IRA. SGO

Ohio taxpayers who donate to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) are able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor (up to $1,500 for joint filers). The Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) is a certified SGO, and St. Gertrude School is a participating school. That means that if you pay Ohio income tax, you can choose whether you pay taxes to the State of Ohio or donate to our parish school. Please consider joining your fellow parishioners who have claimed the tax credit. Your gift will go directly to tuition assistance for St. Gertrude School students.

Matching Gift

Some employers offer matching gift opportunities to employees/retirees that allow them to make a bigger impact through their donations. To participate, ask if your employer has a matching gift program. If so, fill out the necessary forms, and submit your request!
